Are you fucking kidding me? And eleven bucks?
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:28 |

What does the unit price on it mean?
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:31 |

Is that not the price before local state tax is added at the till?

I wouldn’t touch any of that stuff with a barge-pole.
If you want English tea, either go to a British or Irish ex-pat store or let me know and I’ll send you some but that stuff looks like shite.

No clue. It says $29.97 per 100 as the unit price, and $10.79 each as the retail price, so maybe there’s just a hell of a lot of markup on it?

Yes ... 36 bags for all that money. I can and do buy an 80 count box of PG Tips for 9 or 10 bucks.
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:36 |

Price for 100 tea bags. Useful for comparing prices between products sold in different quantities.
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:39 |

That’s it’s wildly expensive. But really, it seems to mean 30 bucks / 100 count. Wow.
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:39 |

Ahh, okay. Now that makes sense.
In any case, it’s really expensive tea.

A real Brit turned us on to PG Tips ... perfectly good tea.
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:46 |

That’s the most basic tea they’ll drink.
Try Yorkshire Gold.
![]() 02/18/2018 at 16:51 |

As Eric says. Try Yorkshire Tea or Yorkshire Gold Tea. Though there is quite a few good teas and interesting teas.

Rarely drink tea, but the Japanese person in my life does ... thanks, I’ll pick some up.

Oh I just re-read that, ‘a real Brit’?
Do you meet many fakes or importers? Lol.

Did know a guy once who feigned an English accent. Fooled a few people, but not me.

If you ever meet a Brit or someone pretending to be, ask them to say Loughborough, ‘luff-bur-ugh’. Many foreigners can’t pronounce it.
![]() 02/19/2018 at 00:34 |
|
Or to say: Fotheringay ... it’s not easy.
![]() 02/19/2018 at 01:51 |
|
As a true Brit, that’s easy, but ye’, for the less fortunate, not so easy.
Or the surname featherstonehaugh, it’s ‘fanshaw’.
![]() 02/19/2018 at 03:18 |

Stephen Fry pronounced “Featherstonehaugh” once, and I’ve never forgotten.
Love to hear old words pronounced properly, for some silly reason ...

I like old words but I also like learning some of my own dialect.
My grand father used to speak like this.
It’s a dying dialect. It’s crossed between 2,000 year old Cumbric (form of celtish gaelic) and old norse. The vikings settled in Cumbria more than anywhere else.
The words are amazing.
1, yan,
2, tyan,
3, tethera,
4, methera,
5, pimp,
6, sethera,
7, lethera,
8, hovera,
9, dothera,
10, dick,
11, yandick, etc...
20, bumfitt,
21, yanbumfitt, etc...
30, giggot.

But the pictures look so pretty and so British.
Certainly that MUST mean it’s good, right? RIGHT?

“ask them to say Loughborough,”
LOG-BORE-OOG!!
![]() 02/20/2018 at 01:09 |

Ssshhhhh. Don’t tell anyone but no.
It’s what is sometimes called, ‘selling to gullible idiots and fan groups’ (yes there is a lot of cross over there).
![]() 02/20/2018 at 01:12 |

Come on, your not even trying.
I even put up how to pronounce it.
Lol.

Just tell them it’s a collectible limited edition...
![]() 02/20/2018 at 01:16 |

What and spark French style Nutella riots?
Wait!
This is in America, ye’, go for it man, go for it.

“LOU-GABO-RUG!!!”
![]() 02/20/2018 at 01:26 |

Yes, that’s it, that is exactly it. Well done.
:p

Wasn’t a particularly high moment in television, either.

hopefully they never sell that disaster.

The missus like it more than I did, but it was well done - but it didn’t really have an ending, it just stopped. And they should have had the timeline go through WWII but used the same number of episodes. Why didn’t they call me?
![]() 02/20/2018 at 11:56 |

I will be keeping an eye on them, believe you me.

I liked it well enough initially, but I got tired of it before too long because it felt like it wasn’t going anywhere and ultimately, it didn’t. And Hugh Bonham was very tedious.
